About Dynamic Equilibrium
Hello, I am Nancy Toner Weinberger. I named and created my business, Dynamic Equilibrium, in 2004. The name represented the opportunity for change and innovation, as well as an acknowledgement that balance, a principle I treasure, is always in the present, and we must respond to the changing circumstances of life to remain in balance. As life and work have progressed, the name has stood the test of time, equally at home representing my individual endeavors and broadest community reach.
In tune with this focus, and following 42 years of teaching adult vocational skills and of private practice as a bodyworker, I have closed my private practice, and discontinued teaching. Taking time for personal evaluation and inner seeking, I am looking forward to enough leisure to complete some home projects and some creative projects that always get put on the back burner in favor of "work,"- easy to do when you love your work! If you would like to reach me, emailing is the best way. I am still willing to schedule private tutorials for my former students.
Historical Information follows:
Under the umbrella of Dynamic Equilibrium:
My private practice, in which I work with individuals one-on-one using both hands-on and energetic healing arts to encourage balance in body, mind, emotion and spirit. Individual consulting and tutorials are also available.
Teaching has been in my blood since I was a child and regularly lined up siblings and playmates to be students as I played "teacher". It is my great joy and privilege to offer classes for both personal and professional development.
My continuing education courses for massage therapists and bodyworkers are approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). I have been a licensed massage therapist since 1976, first in New York and now in North Carolina, and have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share. I choose courses that reflect the requests and needs of the bodywork community, but I also choose courses that inspire me because of my knowledge and experience in the profession. Courses are regularly revised and updated based on feedback from class participants, new material that becomes available relating to the course offered, and changes in national, state, and local rules and regulations.
The number of continuing education hours awarded for completion of each approved course is listed with the course description. In order to receive continuing education credits two conditions must be met: Each Participant must attend a course in its entirety; each participant must demonstrate that they have met the learning objectives for the course, as observed by the instructor during the class.
Records of continuing education courses completed with Dynamic Equilibrium are confidential and can only be given out or discussed with the person who completed the course. Please retain your course certificate of attendance for your records. Should your certificate be lost or destroyed, you must contact the provider who issued the certificate for a replacement. Because I have sponsored guest instructors and taught for organizations such as the AMTA, you might need to know who issued your certificate at times. CLICK HERE for a course list to help you to locate the provider for your course. If your certificate was issued by Dynamic Equilibrium, send a signed request to Dynamic Equilibrium along with a stamped self-addressed envelope. A transcript of classes you have taken with Dynamic Equilibrium may be obtained by sending a signed written request and including a stamped pre-addressed envelope. Please include your phone number when writing to Dynamic Equilibrium in case there are any questions about your request. All records are maintained for a minimum of 4 years.
Dynamic Equilibrium also publishes the Professional Education & Resource Guide for massage therapists and bodyworkers (PERG), which is distributed twice per year. Please visit www.PERGOnline.com to view an online copy if you don't already receive it in the mail.

Educational Philosophy:
Ongoing education is an essential element in work and in life. The student-teacher relationship is one of the seven primary relationships that define our lives and our potential to become more.
Education should follow the principles of adult learning theory in its orientation and presentation. Education should always meet the participants where they are so that communication and learning can be successful. Information alone can be conveyed in a book; one does not require the presence of an instructor. It is the insight on the part of the instructor, the listening, the relationship formed between the teacher and the student, the mentor and apprentice, that brings learning to the level of understanding, where it can be integrated. With application and experience, this learning then emerges in one's life and in the work of the professional, enhancing and developing the profession.
Dynamic Equilibrium intends to provide excellent education programs to healing arts practitioners, in particular massage therapists and bodyworkers, that meet the evolving needs of the individual practitioner and the professional community as a whole, and that help to enhance the profession's world image.
